Our story

After working for a regional food broker in the Midwest, Five Sycamores founder Ryan Wirth moved on to build a successful career in the financial advice industry. Now, with 4 kids of his own, Ryan reignited his drive to help connect individuals and families directly to the source of their nutrition.

Five Sycamores launched its first buying group in 2024 to serve families around the Fox Valley and have been evolving ever since. The aim is to bring some of the most useful, time-tested principles of the traditional food brokerage model to the grassroots level, providing a consistent sourcing process that people can rely on.

How it works

We facilitate farm-direct purchases using convenient pickup locations to help you access quality, local products more efficiently. The focus is simple: honest sourcing, minimal packaging, no unnecessary miles — and currently support the following producers.

Weekly orders are collected by Sunday and the products are ready for pick-up on the following Wednesday. There are no membership fees, minimums, or annual subscriptions — order what you need when you need it. If you have questions regarding organic practices, pasture-raising, feed, or certifications please reach out directly to the specific producer.
